EMERGENCY NEED

The Pioneer House Shelter, managed by the Women's Resource Center (an agency of United Way of Clatsop County) is facing a severe cash shortfall. United Way of Clatsop County is launching an emergency request for help. Your donation of $10 (more if you are able) can help keep the doors open.

Mail your check to United Way of Clatsop County to PO Box 775, Astoria, Oregon, 97103 and note "Pioneer House" in the memo line, or donate to United Way online and note "Pioneer House" in the memo/comments section of the transaction. All funds will go immediately and entirely to the Pioneer House Shelter.

Pioneer House is located in Astoria, Oregon, and provides shelter and food for homeless women and familes, as well as for victims of domestic violence.

We need your help:
Not for ourselves, but for our friends and neighbors in crisis.

People who have been self-reliant suddenly find themselves needing help paying for heat and rent.  Unemployment, hunger and homelessness are on the rise.

United Way's annual campaign helps fund a strong network of social services to aid people in trouble. The network of agencies is reporting record-breaking demand so you are needed more than ever.  The economic plight affecting so many hard-working families may not always be visible, but the impact is all too real in our schools and among our service providers.   Please give today.

If you are able to respond in any way, your help is needed now.  If you've already made a gift to United Way this year, and you are able, please consider an extra one-time emergency gift.  If you haven't donated, I hope you'll
do so now.  It may be the most important gift you give this season.

Our Mission:
To improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of Clatsop County Communities.

The Cornerstone Project:
A number of local businesses, corporations, and foundations, have agreed to have their donations pay for United Way of Clatsop County’s administrative and campaign overhead expenses. This allows individual contributions to directly support the agencies delivering the services listed at this site.
