Disaster Recovery Help
Many folks are finding they still need help after the December storm. FEMA has left, but there is a local entity that may be able to help.You need not have registered with FEMA to be. The Clatsop County Long-Term Disaster Recovery Committee consists of representatives from civic, religious and local governmental agencies throughout the county. This committee was convened recently to help with unmet disaster-related needs from the December storm. Between April 30th and May 10th, trained volunteers will be in the county to conduct a needs assessment. These folks are with Christian Reformed World Relief Committee (CRWRC) and will be doing door-to-door canvassing in selected areas. They also will be conducting needs assessment interviews at designated locations in the county. (See below.) considered for help now appointment at one of the four neighborhood interview centers.
The committee needs help now with phone answering, data entry, construction supervision and volunteer coordination. If you can help or want more information, please call the above number after April 25. In the future, we also will be seeking materials and financial contributions as we work together to help our neighbors. If you have questions now, please call Rev.
